London & Paris - December 2012Question: Why do you bother moving overseas?
Answer: So you can do this sort of trip. Roma's Highlight - Buying a toy at Hamleys Charlie's Highlight - Going on the Big Bus What a wonderful trip we've had. London - Walk out the front door of our hotel (Novotel Towerbridge) and there's the Tower of London right in front of us. We caught the Big Red Bus (2 days for the price of 1) and checked out Buckingham Palace, Harrods, Trafalgar Square, Hamleys, Big Ben, St Paul's, Westminster Abbey, and the Natural History Museum. Outside London - Hired a car (Merc, no less) for a two-day trip to Stonehenge, Bath and Castlecoombe (where they filmed War Horse). Fantastic countryside and Stonehenge was unbelievable. Hotel - London - Novotel Towerbridge Midsomer Norton - The Rectory |
Paris - Wow. Best city. Stayed in an apartment in the snobby Marais area. From the kitchen window we could see the top of Pompidou (which Ruth went to see). We walked and walked and walked.
Quote from Roma: "Mummy, walking is for adults. It's not good for Kids. Walking is boring." We checked out The Eiffel Tower, Louvre (had a grand tour with the kids), Arc de Triumph, Champ Elysees and Versailles. Hotel - Private accommodation through " Paris Attitude". |
